Given the responsibility to establish the art direction for Transnet's representation at the Mining Indaba 2023, intending for it to be featured on Transnet's social media platforms and their media room at the event venue, a strategic starting point was the creation of a visual concept aligned with the Mining Indaba's 2023 theme, 'Unlocking African Mining Investment.'
LOCKUP
Incorporating the essence of mining into the brand, I utilised the forms of typical mineral crystals. These shapes were seamlessly merged with the angles of the brand mark to construct a geometric holding device. This multifunctional element serves as both a text box and a recurring pattern within the overall design system. Remarkably, the outcome has a striking resemblance to a diamond shape, adding an unexpected and intriguing element to the design.
